Youth participants pose with their certificates after completion of the Hopi Lavayi Institute’s summer Hopi language immersion program. The program introduced non-Hopi speakers to language immersion, which better enables students to become accustomed to hearing the language.

KYKOTSMOVI, Ariz. - On July 30, the Hopi Lavayi Institute concluded its yearly program. This year's program included Hopi language classes for ages K-8 and young adults along with teacher training. Under the direction of Dr. Sheila Nicholas from the University of Arizona, children and young adults were immersed in the Hopi language during the classes for four weeks.
