NDOT improves BÁÁHÁÁLÍ Chichiltah solid waste station road
TSE BONITO, N.M. — On Aug. 25, the Navajo Division of Transportation completed a road improvement project at the Bááháálí Chichiltah Regional Solid Waste and Recycling Center.
The improvements consisted of widening the roadway to 22 feet, installation of a new gate and cattleguard, double-chip seal, two-inch aggregate base course lay down and two applications of pack coat sealant.
The contractor for the project was Navajo-owned CB Emulsion LLC, from Prewitt, New Mexico.
“Overall, Navajo DOT and CB improved almost half a mile of road that benefits the community by providing access to the solid waste transfer station,” said Navajo DOT Executive Director Garret Silversmith.
CB Emulsion started the project Aug. 3, which reached substantial completion Aug. 24.
The project was funded by approximately $288,000 dollars of New Mexico Local Government Road Funds.
