The iconic guitar playing bronze statue tribute to the Eagles song “Take it Easy,” shines brightly from visitors touch.

Take it Easy includes the line, “Standin’ on the corner in Winslow, Arizona” and is a draw for visitors to Winslow.

Beginning in January this year, following the death of song writer Glen Frey, visitor count to Winslow’s “Standin’ Corner” increased significantly.

Before the visitor influx, the statue was an oxidized dull bronze. Today the statue shows significant polish from visitors posing with him.

In September another bronze statue will be added to downtown Winslow.

A full size bronze statue of Frey, who co-composer of the famous Eagles song, will be dedicated to the musician composer.

A cooperative effort of City of Winslow, the Standing on The Corner Foundation and FM station KSLX Phoenix, funded the statue.

The dedication is scheduled for noon Sept. 23.
