Winslow Arts Council to sponsor tattoo event Oct. 24 at PT's Bar in Winslow

WINSLOW, Ariz. - The Winslow Arts Council will sponsor an Ink Fest Oct. 24 at PT's Bar, 1500 E. Third St., in Winslow.

The event will run from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. and be open to the public at no cost. For most of the event there will be things to do for people of all ages, although children will not be allowed after the last tattoo contest at approximately 7 p.m. There will also be no cost to artists participating in the event.

Artists and businesses wishing to participate in the event may begin setting up spaces on the patio where the event will take place at 11 a.m. on a first come basis. There will be spaces for live tattooing but participants must provide any waivers and be able to show their credentials to customers.

The council will accept donations for prizes in raffles or contests. Any business or artist wishing to participate must register by Oct. 16 by contacting Roberta Cano at City Hall, 21 Williamson Ave. She may be contacted by e-mail at Roberta.cano@ci.winslow.az.us or at (928) 289-1411.

A number of events during the day begin with a kids' coloring competition from 2-3 p.m. Next will be a tattoo contest for the most patriotic tattoo from 3-4 p.m. That will be followed by another tattoo contest for the most traditional tattoo from 4-5 p.m. A tattoo contest for the most colorful tattoo takes place from 5-6 p.m. The last tattoo contest will be for the best black and white tattoo and will run from 6-7 p.m.

Children must exit the premises after the last tattoo contest and there will be live music from 7-8 p.m. when the pin-up girl contest will begin and run until 9 p.m. There will be live music until 10 p.m. when the event ends.
