Winslow Bulldogs, Lady Bulldogs find easy wins against Round Valley teams

WINSLOW, Ariz. - The Winslow Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs both posted easy wins Jan. 13 over the Round Valley Elks and Lady Elks in games played at Winslow.

The Lady Bulldogs won their game 51-31 and the Bulldog boys pounded the Elks 67-32.

In the girls game Winslow had a 13-8 lead after the first quarter and a 21-14 margin at the half.

The third quarter saw the Lady Bulldogs up the lead to a commanding 39-19. Winslow coasted to victory in the final period.

Nicole Slade of Round Valley was the game's high scorer but was the only Lady Elk in double figures.

Winslow had two players in double digits and balanced scoring from the rest of the squad. Jaycey Sangster scored 13 points for the Lady Bulldogs and Shandiin Armao was also in double figures with 12 points.

The win improved Winslow's record to 14-4 for the season.

The Winslow boys posted a very strong first quarter and had a double digit 21-6 lead going into the second period.

The margin was 36-21 at the half and a commanding 50-29 after three quarters. The Bulldogs walked off the court with an overwhelming 67-32 win that improved their record for the season to 12-3.

Kordell McReeves led the Bulldogs and all scorers with 14 points. Akkeem Foster with 13 points was also in double figures for Winslow as was Devon Flanagan with 10 points.

No Elks players scored in double figures and they were led by Cordell Lund and Caleb Goodsell with eight points each. No other Elks had more than four points. Only seven Elks scored while 10 Bulldogs contributed to Winslow's scoring.
