WINSLOW, Ariz. - The Winslow Arts Council put on a Christmas lights contest again this year. To be listed for judging a homeowner needed to call and request inclusion in the contest with their name and address. On Dec. 17, four art council members spent time admiring Winslow's Christmas lighted homes and yards.

This year the council decided to select the top five displays and honor each with a congratulatory plaque staked in their front yard. Out of the top five, one overall winner was chosen and received a $50 gift certificate to DJ's Restaurant in the Quality Inn Winslow.

Raymond and Vicky Gonzales, 1112 Central Ave., received the gift and were among the top five winning houses. The other winners were: Aaron and April Neill, 1820 Iron Horse; Robert and Lillian McKinney, 207 W. Hillview Ave; Pete , 617 W. Fourth Street; and Ralph Linstra, 117 Maricopa Dr.

Honorable mentions went to these addresses: 1117 Central; 6 Papago; 137 Navajo; 220 W. Hillview; 109 Mahoney; 122 W. Cherry and 1116 Williamson.
