Window Rock got an early break and took advantage of it. A Winslow flat pass was deemed a lateral and recovered by the Scouts at the Bulldog 31-yard line. Tony Walker ran 31 yards to score on the next play to give the Scouts a 6-0 lead after the conversion kick failed.

The Bulldogs dodged another dangerous situation when Window Rock got the ball at the Winslow 15-yard line after a bad snap on a punt. The Winslow defense held on a fourth and short at their seven-yard line.

The Bulldogs turned the ball over at their 15-yard line on fourth and inches but got it back on a Window Rock fumble on the next play. The Bulldogs lost another fumble at their 40-yard line but held there and started a drive that was in Window Rock territory when the quarter ended with Window Rock leading 6-0.

Foster scored his second touchdown of the game on a six-yard run on Winslow's next possession. The two point conversion attempt failed and Winslow led 12-6 with just over six minutes left in the half.

C. J. Chacon ran three yards to score with only seconds left in the half. Chavez-Velez ran for the two-point conversion that gave Winslow a 20-6 lead at the half.

The third quarter was played with no scoring although Winslow threatened in the last minute but lost the ball on a fumble. Winslow still led 20-6 entering the final period of play.

Window Rock got inside the Winslow 20-yard line but lost the ball on a fumble early in the fourth quarter.

Foster scored for the third time in the game on a 14-yard pass from Chavez-Velez on a fourth down play. That completed an 85-yard drive. The conversion pass failed and Winslow led 26-6 with just over four minutes left in the game.

Darrien "Peanut" Brown scored on a five-yard run with just over a minute left in the game. After scoring his first varsity touchdown the freshman booted the extra point to give the Bulldogs a 33-6 lead.

Sheldon Smith picked off a Window Rock pass and ran 25 yards to score and increase the lead to 40-0 after Brown's conversion. That was his first varsity touchdown.

The Bulldogs will play host to Monument Valley on Friday in another game that Winslow needs to win to secure a playoff berth.

The Mustangs had a 3-2 record going into the Oct. 3 game with the Page Sand Devils. Their losses were to excellent teams, Show Low and Snowflake, both by lopsided scores.
