Winslow's Armao named Sectional Girls Player of the Year, Jordan Coach of the Year

WINSLOW, Ariz. - The Winslow High School basketball teams reaped honors after a successful season. Seven of the team's players made Division III Section IV All Sectional teams, Shandiin Armao was named the Sectional Girls Player of the Year and Jarron Jordan the Sectional Girls Coach of the Year.

Armao is a junior. Jordan is looking forward for a run at a state championship in the 2014-15 season.

Stevin Nelson of Winslow was named to the All Sectional boys' first team along with Jackson Jessop and Sean Potter of Show Low, McKay Berges and Chris Williams of Blue Ridge and Westen Ziegler of Round Valley. Keenan Keams, Milland Thomas and Trelonnie Sanders of Winslow were named to the All Section second team along with Austin Young of Payson and Daniel Brackney and Sam Tate of Show Low.

Westen Ziegler of Round Valley was named the Section Player of the Year for the boys and Andy Wood of Snowflake was named the boys Section Coach of the Year.

Armao and Halle Hayes of Winslow were named to the All Sectional girls' first team along with Jessica Neff of Snowflake, Teyah Goldtooth of Holbrook, Arissa Paulson of Payson and Marissa Larue of Round Valley. Marcella Joe of Winslow was named to the All Section second team along with MacKenzie Jordan of Blue Ridge, Ari Paulson of Payson, Marisa Godfrey of Snowflake and Summer Olney and Rochelle Nez of Holbrook.
