Baseball is big in Winslow. 500 kids on 40 teams turned out in uniform for Little League opening day in Winslow April 5. Winslow Little League President Dale Thomas officiated at the event and explained that there are four age groups in Little League. T-Ball is Co-ed, Minor League, Major League and Seniors include both boys and girls teams. The 1 p.m. opening ceremonies were preceded by free burgers for all. Winslow has the oldest chartered team in Arizona, celebrating its 60th year.
