Struggles continue for Winslow Bulldogs with late season losses to Page and Coconino

The Winslow Bulldogs continue to struggle as the end of the regular season approaches with an away game loss to Page and a loss to Coconino in Winslow.

The Page Sand Devils defeated the Winslow Bulldogs 49-37 in Page Jan. 24. The loss left the Bulldogs with a 13-11 record for the season. The Bulldogs take on the Holbrook Roadrunners Wednesday and play host to the Tuba City Warriors on Thursday.

Page had a narrow 11-8 lead after the first quarter and built it to 23-14 by the half. The margin was 32-22 after three quarters of play.

Carson Wright led all scorers with 16 points for Page. Jamaal Thomas was also in double figures for the Sand Devils with 11 points. Lucas Shirley led Winslow with 10 points.

The Coconino Panthers defeated the Winslow Bulldogs 62-35 in Winslow on Friday. The loss left the Bulldogs with a 13-12 record for the season.

The Bulldogs were without Michael Goldtooth, frequently their top scorer, and the Panthers wasted no time in building a commanding 23-6 first period advantage. The margin was 32-19 at the half and 52-29 after three quarters.

Andy Bonner and Josh Ingram led all scorers with 20 points each for Coconino. Skyler Zweifel also scored in double figures for the Panthers with 13 points. Keenan Keams led Winslow with 14 points. Lucas Shirley also scored in double figures for the Bulldogs with 10 points.
