Early Childhood Fair brings reading and fun together Saturday at Mt. Elden Middle School

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Dancing, a sing along and free dental screenings are all part of the third annual Early Childhood Fair Saturday in the dome at Mt. Elden Middle School, 3223 N. Fourth St., Flagstaff.

The event's organizers invite Flagstaff families to the free resource fair. Early childcare information, children's dental screenings on site, free books, door prizes, a kids' stuff swap, and a teacher supply swap will all be available during the event from 9 a.m.-noon. This year's event theme is Early Reading, Early Learning.

Children's book author and guitarist Matthew Henry will lead a sing along at 9 a.m. followed by dancing with Canyon Dance at 10 a.m. Music Together staff instructors will lead interactive demonstrations at 11 a.m.

Last year more than 200 participants celebrated children's early years as learning years. This year educators and early childhood organizations will come together to celebrate the importance of children's early education and healthy development.

Event sponsors include Alliance for Children's Early Success, Flagstaff Unified School District, First Things First, Association for Supportive Child Care, Northern Arizona Association for the Education of Young Children, North Country HealthCare and United Way of Northern Arizona.

The City of Page Public Library will put on its Early Reading, Early Learning Childhood Fair April 20 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. during the Keep America Beautiful Earth Day event at Page City Memorial Park.
