Paving on Holbrook's Interstate 40 Business Route under way
HOLBROOK, Ariz. - The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) started repaving Interstate 40 Business Route (Hopi Boulevard) in Holbrook on May 14. The work will consist of removing a layer of the old pavement and replacing it with new pavement.
Work hours will be 24 hours a day. The 24-hour work schedule will allow the contractor to complete the project quicker, which in turn will reduce the amount of time it impacts residents and businesses. The project is scheduled to be completed Saturday.
Traffic lanes will be narrowed and the speed limit will be reduced in the work zone. Flaggers will be present to guide vehicles through these work areas.
ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
