Winslow baseball, softball teams get high tournament seeds

WINSLOW, Ariz. - Both the Winslow baseball and softball teams ended their regular season schedules with excellent recodes and both were rewarded with favorable Division Three seeding for the state playoffs.

The Winslow Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs both received high seeds from the Arizona Athletic Association's power point system. The Winslow baseball team is seeded second in Division Three and will play the winner of a Tuesday game between Fountain Hills and Morenci at 7 p.m. on Friday at Surprise.

The Winslow Lady Bulldogs softball team is seeded third and will also play on Friday at Rose Mofford Complex on Friday at 8 p.m. against the winner between Chino Valley and Florence in a Tuesday game.

Other Tuesday baseball games matched Snowflake and Camp Verde with the winner to play River Valley on Friday, Mingus and Monument Valley with the winner to Show Low, Thatcher and Safford with the winner to play Blue Ridge, Tombstone and Page with the winner to play Scottsdale Christian, Holbrook and Northwest Christian with the winner to play Chino Valley, Wilcox and Combs with the winner to play Estrella Foothills, Empire and Ganado with the winner to play Window Rock.

Other Tuesday softball games matched Monument Valley and Fountain Hills with the winner to play Payson on Friday, Window Rock and Coolidge with the winner to play Mingus, Page and Tuba City with the winner to play Bourgade Catholic, Willcox and Horizon Honors with the winner to play Benson, River Valley and Morenci with the winner to play Blue Ridge, Safford and Show Low with the winner to play Empire, Snowflake and Cortez with the winner to play Estrella Foothills.
