Public information meetings scheduled to present negotiations on Little Colorado River Water Rights Settlement Agreement

KYKOTSMOVI, Ariz. - The Hopi Tribe's water team and Hopi Chairman LeRoy Shingoitewa have scheduled two public information meetings to inform and update the Hopi people on the negotiations of the Little Colorado River (LCR) Water Rights Settlement Agreement.

A meeting begins at 6 p.m. today at the Moenkopi Legacy Inn. A second meeting begins at 6 p.m. tomorrow at the Veterans Memorial Center.

Hopi Chairman LeRoy N. Shingoitewa said, "The Hopi people have the right to hear and know the truth about the negotiations. There has been much misinformation being circulated in the community, which has caused confusion among our people. Contrary to rumor, No deal has been made."

All Tewa-Hopi people are encouraged to attend these meetings to gain first hand information on the LCR negotiations.
