Commemorating the founding of Winslow in 1876, a horseback trail ride from Lee's Ferry to Winslow will take place and end in Winslow on March 24. For details, contact Winslow Chamber of Commerce.
Winslow utility crews and McCauley Construction were recognized for outstanding work during the recent sewer line break.
Standing on The Corner Foundation notified the city of their proposed Blues Festival for May 11-12 and requested some minor assistance with traffic control and insurance. The city approved the requests and event. Admission to the Blues Festival will be $10 each day.
The Taylor Town Manager gave a summary of the cooperative project involving cities in Navajo and Apache counties called "REAL AZ." Information can be found at www.realaz.com.
After much research, Winslow opted out of a proposed regional 911 system because it would be a step back for the city's emergency services. The current system is "state of the art".
City of Winslow approved support and insurance for 2012 Standing on the Corner. The new headliner band for this year will be the "Sheagles," an all female, Eagles Tribute Band.
