Sober Way Home Brain Center offers neurofeedback

PRESCOTT, Ariz. - Officials at A Sober Way Home are pleased to announce the grand opening of The Sober Way Home Brain Center: Offering neurofeedback and applied technology to their clients seeking recovery.

Sandra Tillman said she couldn't ignore the addiction/recovery research involving Neurofeedback. Clients receiving 43 sessions of Neurofeedback, in conjunction with a 90-day treatment stay and a 12-step or faith-based program have a 77 percent recovery rate one year post treatment, said Tillman.

"Up until now the success rates were abysmal due to the dysregulated brains of alcoholics and drug addicts. Before Neurofeedback, addiction treatment could only claim an 8 percent success rate a year after treatment, and this has been true since addiction treatment began. Neurofeedback is not a magic bullet; however, it's the closest our field has ever come to one, and we're integrating trauma, resolving depression, anxiety disorders, and ADD/ADHD while we're at it," said Janice Witt, director of the brain center.

Executive Director Pete Stewart welcomes the opportunity to embrace innovative treatment modalities.

"I am personally excited to be involved with Janice Witt and the work that she is doing at the Brain Center. Ultimately our role, in this field, is to go to any lengths to help people on their journeys toward recovery and growth. Whether it's Neurofeedback at our Brain Center, experiential outreach in Haiti through: In It For The Cause Foundation, or the creative work within traditional treatment, A Sober Way Home continues to strive for and effect genuine life change," said Steward.

The Sober Way Brain Center is currently open 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday with plans to expand in June. They serve both the clients in addiction treatment and the clients at Gambling Treatment Services. July marks the grand opening of their new detox center. The mission of the brain center is to repair the brains of those suffering from addiction and addictive disorders while optimizing the spiritual and creative lives of their clients.
