On Dec. 9, Sun Valley Indian School (SVIS) repeated as the Desert Pines Sports League volleyball champions. Entering the five team tournament as the second seed, the Warriors earned a spot in the championship match with a straight set victory over Payson Community Christian School. In the championship match, SVIS avenged a regular season loss to Tonto Basin Elementary School by winning a tough three set match (25-21, 15-25, 17-15) against the Wranglers.
