WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. - Speaker Johnny Naize (Low Mountain, Many Farms, Nazlini, Tachee/Blue Gap, Tselani/Cottonwood) congratulates the Leupp Chapter for conducting the Navajo Nation's first official chapter meeting 85 years ago.

The first chapter meeting was held under a cottonwood tree at the Old Leupp School, which is located across the Little Colorado River from the current chapter house location.

The Leupp Chapter was LGA-Certified on July 11, 2011, which is one of (30) chapters currently certified.

Speaker Naize congratulates Leupp for its contributions to chapter government development and for providing years of services to the community.

Leupp Chapter will also be the new home of the Navajo Nation's next casino. Twin Arrows Casino Resort will be the Nation's first casino in Arizona.

In 2010, Leupp Chapter was successful in acquiring 405 acres of private land and placing in trust, allowing the development of Twin Arrow Casino Resort.
