The auction of local artists' creations will take place at the Hubble Building on Second Street, at 7 pm on Friday February 10, 2012, coinciding with the approaching Valentines Day. Doors open at 6 pm for examination of the art pieces. Artists are encouraged to bring in their art and register at 5 pm. In addition to the art auction, there is a silent auction of local services and food as well as numerous door prizes. A substantial refreshment assortment will be available at no charge, as well as local musicians, singers, entertainers and art on display for direct sale, will be part of the event. Many of the items to be auctioned are from nationally recognized artists. There will be about 30 unique art pieces in the auction. Artists will be on-site, available for your questions. The event is scheduled to end at 9 pm. This event is sponsored by the Winslow Arts Council and all proceeds go to fund the Council's yearly offerings. The City does no funding of the Arts Council but acts as a support entity. For more information call Peggy Wilson at (928) 289-1411.
