Winslow Lady Bulldogs win three, lose two at Las Vegas

Ladies' record at 16-4 for the season

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Winslow Lady Bulldogs won three games and lost two at the Spring Jamboree Tournament at Las Vegas, Nevada on April 5, 6 and 7. The results left the Lady Bulldogs with a record of 16-4 for the season. On April 5, the Lady Bulldogs defeated Garfield, California 13-2 and lost to Torrance, Calif. North High 8-4. On April 6 Winslow defeated Cheyenne, Nevada 15-0 and Kennedy, California 10-2. On April 7 the Lady Bulldogs lost to Bellermine Jefferson, California 10-0.

In Thursday's 13-2 win over Garfield, California Halle Hayes got the win working six innings and allowing two unearned runs on two hits and two walks while fanning eight. Winslow scored once in the first and third innings, three times in the fifth and eight in the sixth innings. Garfield scored once in the fifth and once in the sixth. Halle Hayes, Arianna Huerta and Megan Lymer were all three for four with all three having a double. Taylor Baca and Dallas Zamora were two for three with Baca having a double. Renee Bollin was two for four. Jalisa Jones was one for two. Jaleisa Hayes and Jamie Bollin were one for four.

In the 8-4 loss to Torrance North, California on April 5, and Kelley Pugh took the loss being touched for seven runs on four hits and three walks. Halle Hayes worked in relief. Winslow scored two runs in both the first and second innings. North scored four in the first inning, three in the second and one in the third. The game was shortened to three innings, probably due to a time limit. Megan Lymer was one for one. Halle and Jaleisa Hayes were both two for three with Jaleisa having a triple and Halle a double. Taylor Baca and Renee Bollin were one for two.

In Friday's 15-0 rout of Cheyenne, Nevada Taylor Baca got the win giving up no runs on no hits and just one walk in four innings. Winslow scored 12 runs in the first inning and coasted to victory. Taylor Baca was four for four with a pair of doubles. Jaleisa Hayes was tow for two with a double. Halle Hayes and Megan Lymer were one for one with Hayes having s triple and Lymer a double. Dallas Zamora and Jamie Bollin were two for three. Mariah Flickinger was one for two.

In the 10-2 win over Kennedy, Calif. on April 6 Halle Hayes got the win working seven innings and giving up two runs on five hits and two walks. Kennedy scored a run in the first and third innings. Winslow plated two in the first and a huge seven in the third. A final run in the sixth completed the scoring. Jaleisa Hayes was three for four with a double. Arianna Huerta was two for three. Halle Hayes was three for five with a double. Taylor Baca was two for four with a double. Megan Lymer and Jamie Bollin were one for three with Lymer having a double. Dallas Zamora and Jamie Bollin were one for four with Zamora having a double.

In the 10-0 loss to Bellermine-Jefferson, Calif. on April 7, Halle Hayes took the loss working four and two thirds innings and giving up seven runs, six of which were earned, on six hits and two walks. Kelley Pugh relieved and gave up three runs, two of which were earned, on four hits. Jaleisa Hayes led Winslow at the plate with a two for three day. Haley Hancock, Jamie Bollin and Jalisa Jones were all one for one. Megan Lymer was one for three.

Winslow was slated to play at Joseph City on April 9 and not play again until Wednesday, April 18, when they host Coconino. The Lady Bulldogs will host Joseph City on Thursday, April 19.
