WINSLOW, Ariz. - Every year on Sept. 11 Winslow has a special memorial occurrence honoring the victims of the terrorist attacks on the United States, that day. The memorial is held on First Street at the Gazebo and surrounding park. There is music, singing, formal flag presentations, rifle salute, speeches and prayers. This year is the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 tragedy, and was a particularly memorable year and produced a memorable event here.

Dee Rodriguez is the main force behind the memorial and produced this year, a most inspiring and beautiful occurrence. 2011 is our biggest and best remembrance so far.
