Goy Begay

Funeral services for Goy Begay, 90, will be held Friday, April 8 at 11 a.m. DST at Hard Rock Community Church. Interment will follow at Hard Rock Community Cemetery.

Begay was born in Big Mountain on June 12, 1920 and entered into rest on April 3, 2011 in Winslow. He was employed as a pastor at Navajo Gospel Mission for 33 years before he retired in 1985. He assisted in building the church and other buildings as well. After he retired he enjoyed ranching and farming.

He is survived by daughters Lillie Whitehair, Lydia Gonzales, Juanita Begay and Darlene Luther; sisters Amy Goy and Imogene Goy; brothers Hosteen Goh, Herbert Guy, John Goy, Clarence Goy and Dodge Goy; 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Elsie Begay; sisters Charlotte Lee and Susan Goy and his parents Bizadi Bekis and Ason Goy.
