Melvin A. George (Lomayesva)

Melvin A. George (Lomayesva) Jr., 43, of Winslow, also known as Jinjoe, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, Sept. 24, 2010. He graduated from Winslow High School in 1985 and was employed as a transport driver for AAA Medix.

Melvin was a big boy with a big heart who loved his family and loved to joke. He was the oldest brother of his large extended family. He was born in Ganado on Nov. 3, 1966 to Sarah D. George and Melvin A. George Sr. His maternal clan is Tsenijikini (Cliff Dwelling Clan) and paternal clan is Fire of Kykotsmovi.

Melvin is survived by four sisters: Margie (Paul), Sharon (Virgil), Shawna (Bonito) and Marina; two brothers, Ira and Merwin; and many extended nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Sept. 29. Burial services followed at Desert View Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah D. George and two brothers. Jinjoe will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
