Flight simulator offers real life opportunities at Northern Arizona Academy

WINSLOW, Ariz. - The Winslow Campus of Northern Arizona Academy, Career Development Inc., located on Airport Road adjacent to the Winslow Airport has an ongoing course of study now in Aviation. This program is being developed at NAA in cooperation with the city of Winslow. As a general introduction to the history, study, and professions of Aviation this is a progressive academic program offered to high school students in grades 9-12. This course of study is interwoven into the regular school curriculum with numerous extracurricular activities for those students involved.

The NAA Aviation Program is designed primarily for students who anticipate transferring to a four-year flight institution or into the military to pursue a study in sciences or flight technologies. Career-minded high school students will learn about jobs in the aerospace industry and military opening important opportunities for the future. This program offers a state-of-the-art curriculum for those students who intend to enter the field of aviation as pilots or flight engineers and those entering flight maintenance field work.

New to the course of studies is a flight simulator with all types of fixed wing aircraft - commercial, private and military, experimental light weight aircraft, and helicopters - included with this system. Any professional pilots or individuals working in the various fields of aviation in our area who are interested in becoming involved with the program as a speaker or as a coach with our flight simulator are encouraged to contact NAA.
