Wrestling: Joseph City bests Winslow in dual meet
WINSLOW, Ariz. - The Winslow High School wrestling team lost to Joseph City, 40-36 in a match held Tuesday in the first action of the season.
Bulldog junior Christian Delgado had the only pin for Winslow in the 215-pound division. Team captains Paul Jaramillo (125) and Craig Boyd (130) both won their matches. Boyd's win was by a decision in Jaramillo's by a major decision.
Winslow's other wins were by forfeits going to Daniel Lopez (119), Samuel Setella (189) and Brent Bahe (heavyweight).
Joseph City won matches with pins by Burt over Colton Corum (135), DeWitt over Adrian Montoya (140), Smith over James Martinez (145), Baldwin over Jace Hardy (152) and DeWitt over Dalton Fatt 171). The Wildcats also won with Lee by decision over Mark Hawley (160) and forfeits to Crosby (103) and Dalton (112).
There were no junior varsity matches. Winslow wrestlers were to compete against Flagstaff High School wrestlers on Wednesday in Flagstaff and participate in the Pat Kinney Invitational Tournament at Holbrook on Friday and Saturday.
