3A North Regional play begins

Regional play started Friday for all but one of the 3A North Region teams. Chinle played a non-regional game against the Show Low Cougars and lost 67-0 to fall to 1-3 for the season. Things don't get any easier for the Wildcats this Friday as they journey to Winslow to be the Winslow Bulldogs' Homecoming opponent.

Winslow got back on the winning track with an easy 42-0 victory over the Ganado Hornets to improve to 3-1 for the season and start regional play 1-0.

Ganado fell to 0-3 for the season with the loss and will host the Monument Valley Mustangs this Friday.

Monument Valley was a 40-0 loser to the Holbrook Roadrunners in Holbrook on Friday and fell to 0-4 for the season and 0-1 in the region.

The Holbrook Roadrunners improved their record to 2-2 for the season and 1-0 in the region. The Roadrunners will journey to Window Rock to meet the Scouts this Friday in what could be a game with considerable playoff implications.

The Window Rock Scouts were the third 3A North Region team to start regional play with a victory. The Scouts edged the Tuba City Warriors 20-14 to improve to 2-1 for the season and 1-0 in the region.

Tuba City fell to 0-3 with the loss and will not play its next regional game until Oct. 2 at Monument Valley. The Warriors will continue their non-regional schedule this Friday at River Valley of the 3A West Region.
