Black Mesa Community School recently held a celebration after achieving AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress). Under "No Child Left Behind," schools and school districts are measured on whether the students meet performance benchmarks in math, reading and attendance for grades third through eighth and math, English and graduation rate for high schools. Navajo County was represented by Supervisor Jonathan M. Nez and Public Works employee Alberto Peshlakai. On behalf of Supervisor Nez, congratulations to the Black Mesa Community.
