CAMP VERDE, Ariz. - Cliff Castle Casino recently earned a Romero Award for excellence in Casino Marketing for their Wear Green/Win Green public relations campaign.

The campaign was very successful. Over 2,000 guests attended the even and wore their green for St. Patrick's Day, receiving cash for their participation and enabling the casino to give out over $35,000 to the communities it supports. Cliff Castle Casino team members from every department were involved and guests lined up to receive cash from 8 a.m-8 p.m.

With the economic crunch in mind, the goal was to give back some cash to the community. Guests received up to $25: $5 for a green hat, $10 for a green shirt and $10 for green shorts, pants or shirt.

"We are very pleased to be recognized with this honor," said Pam Irvin, Advisor of Advertising and Production. "The Romero Awards are the highest award recognition of its kind in our field. As always, we are happy to be a part of that - both our marketing staff members and our guests contributed to the success of this promotion."

The Romero Awards are an annual awards event chaired by John Romero himself - the well-known casino marketing pioneer and author. Each year, a panel of expert judges selects winners in recognition for their excellence in casino marketing in a variety of marketing categories. This year, the award ceremony took place at the final day of the Casino Marketing Conference at Paris Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nev.

Cliff Castle Casino also recently received a Hall of Fame Award for achieving the No. 1 status as best casino in the state of Arizona for an entire decade in Arizona Business Magazine's Best of the Best Awards.

Centrally located in Camp Verde, Cliff Castle Casino is proudly owned and operated by the Yavapai-Apache Nation. For more information call the Castle Club at (928) 567-7999 or visit www.cliffcastlecasino.net.
