To the editor:
While we know that words are only a small gesture of gratitude, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our family, relatives and friends who assisted us when our father, cheii/nalii, Kee Brown Sr. passed away on Sept. 10. Our dad was a highly respected veteran in the Whitecone, Indian Wells and Steamboat communities. He was laid to rest at Holbrook Cemetery with full military honors.
It meant a lot to us to know that everyone took time out of their schedule to be concerned about our mental strength during our time of grief. We appreciate your presence, guidance, cooking, groceries, wood, cards, monetary donations and everything else that was contributed. Your generosity helped ease our pain and grief. Thank you for the kind words, your expressions of condolences, and the wonderful memories you bestowed upon us. The beautiful flower arrangements you offered were so beautiful. Not only did it express your love, support and thoughtfulness but they also were a great example of the beauty and fragility of life.
We would like to particularly thank Cedar Ridge Inn of Farmington, N.M., Infinia Healthcare of Flagstaff and all the nurses, CNAs, and Social Worker Mary for caring for our father with greatest respect and utmost concern. Morgan, Department of Navajo Veterans Services of Ft. Defiance Agency, Whitecone Council Delegate, Lee Jack, Whitecone Veterans Organization, Whitecone Chapter staff, Oljato Chapter Council Delegate Herman Daniels and others too numerous to mention.
