Body discovered in Joseph City landfill identified

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Flagstaff Police Department investigators recently identified a body found in a Joseph City landfill. The body was determined to have come from a dumpster in the Flagstaff area and is being investigated by the Flagstaff Police Department.

Detectives identified the body as that of Jonah Isaac, age 29. Isaac's body was discovered in a large quantity of refuse that had been transferred out of town. Landfill operators notified authorities of the discovery on May 28. Detectives believe the dumpster originated in the area of Cedar Avenue near Fourth Street. The details of how Isaac's body ended up in the dumpster are still being investigated and detectives are asking for the public's help in determining the events leading to his death. The victim has had many previous contacts with local police including a contact earlier on May 28.

Isaac, a Native American, was wearing a black Puma jersey displaying the number 24. He is described as being 5'9" and about 200 pounds. He was wearing red and black Nike shoes.
