Valley 49, Greyhills 44

SANDERS - Lashenan Six scored 14 points as the Valley Lady Pirates (7-9, 5-3) won an important Arizona 2A North Region Conference matchup for the second time this season over the Greyhills Academy Lady Knights of Tuba City (4-11, 3-5) with a final score of 49-44.

The Lady Knights were led by Mashayla Smith with 12 points, Amber Blackhat and Shelby Begay added eight points each.

The Lady Knights (7-10, 5-4) played host to the St. Johns Lady Redskins on Saturday, Jan. 19. The Lady Redskins won on the road with a score of 43 to 23. (Stats not available at press time).

The Lady Knights played at Hopi Jan. 22 and will travel to Many Farms Jan. 24. On Saturday, Jan. 26, they will host Pinon.

The Valley Lady Pirates played at Hopi Jan. 19 (Results not available at press time) and went on the road to Red Mesa Jan. 22. They will host Rough Rock Jan. 24 before traveling to St. Johns on Jan. 29.

Ganado 55 Tuba City 42

GANADO - "When you play teams at a higher level, you have to play at that level," head coach Peterson Butler told the Lady Hornets. "The key to the win was execution, steals, and pulling down rebounds." The Arizona 2A North Region conference leaders, the Lady Hornets of Ganado (18-2, 8-1) were victorious over the visiting Tuba City Lady Warriors (7-11, 4-4) with a final score of 55 to 42.

Leandra Lynch had a game high 19 points, followed by Shandiin West with 18 points. Shanda Benally also added 13 points for the Lady Hornets.

Angel Tacheene and Candace Williams had eight points each, followed by Danielle Hoover with seven points for the Lady Warriors.

The Lady Hornets traveled to Holbrook Jan. 22 and will host Window Rock on Jan. 25 and finish their 3A North Region conference regular season at Monument Valley on Jan. 29.

The Lady Warriors were on the road to Monument Valley Jan. 22 and will host the Chinle Lady Wildcats Jan. 25. They will then be on the road to Winslow Jan. 26 and will conclude their 3A North Region conference regular season at Chinle Feb. 1.
