PHOENIX-Pueblo Grande Museum will be celebrating its 4th Annual Native American Farmers Market on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The market will feature Native American farmers and artists from various local American Indian communities such as the Salt River Pima Maricopa and the Gila River Communities.
In addition to fresh produce from various tribal communities, we will have Native American demonstrators and vendors displaying their arts and crafts. Some of the featured artists will have gourd crafts, saguaro cactus jewelry, pottery, herbal products and much more.
The Farmer's Market will also be a treat for the kids and those young at heart. A children's craft area focuing on agriculturally related and fall themed crafts will be offered.
Children will even be able to pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch and decorate it for the upcoming holiday. For the competitive participants an adult and a children's watermelon eating contest will be featured. For those who stop by around lunch time, save room for a Frybread taco lunch.
