Just in time for the holiday season, Flagstaff Cultural Partners presents the Fine Crafts Sale and Marketplace Saturday, Dec. 1. The Marketplace is a juried one-day sale featuring some of the finest artists in northern Arizona.
It provides visitors the opportunity to purchase high quality fine crafts directly from the artists who create them.
All participating artists in the marketplace are featured in the art exhibition, "It's Elemental," on display at the Coconino Center for the Arts from Nov. 20 - Dec. 20.
The juried exhibition provides a showcase for regional artisans who transform the time-honored elements of wood, clay, fiber, metal, paper and glass into fine craft with a modern appeal. Furniture, pottery, jewelry, stained glass, fiber for the wall and for wear, ironwork, baskets and gourds are among the works exhibited. Artists in the marketplace mirror this style of work.
Among the artists participating in this year's marketplace are: Lluvia Brito, glass jewelry; Marsha Burns, ceramics; Robin Cadigan, ceramics; Darcy Falk, fiber; Katerine Farr, hats, scarves, shawls and sweaters; Judi Hartman, glass; Sharon McGuiness, fiber; Sasha Rabin, pottery; Lucian Richards, wood collage; Sharon Richards, scarves and fiber; Lynn Rovelstad, glass and glass jewelry; and Gwen Waring, small paintings.
A popular seasonal tradition of the "It's Elemental exhibition is It's Ornamental," which will be on display during the marketplace. Handmade holiday ornaments created by local artists decorate a tree in the lobby of the Coconino Center for the Arts.
All proceeds from the sale of these one-of-a-kind ornaments benefit Flagstaff Cultural Partners.
The Fine Crafts Sale and Marketplace is open to the public and admission is free. Hot apple cider and holiday refreshments will be served.
The Coconino Center for the Arts is located at 2300 N. Fort Valley Road in Flagstaff.
