Flagstaff Symphony to thank donors with complimentary concert tickets

Thanks to a partnership with The Phoenix Symphony and the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra, United Blood Services donors will "Hear the Sweet Sound of Saving Lives" when they donate blood now through Nov. 26. The collaboration was announced to encourage the public to give the gift of life during the Thanksgiving holiday week.

In appreciation, every donor will receive a voucher for two tickets to a Phoenix Symphony or Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra performance. Locations have been established throughout Camp Verde, Flagstaff, Metro Phoenix, Prescott and Yuma to make it convenient for symphony fans to give blood.Thanksgiving is the longest extended holiday weekend of the year, making it also one of the most difficult times to attract donors. More than 700 blood donors are needed every day in Arizona. United Blood Services is asking people to take just one hour out of their holiday plans to save lives by giving blood. The Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra joined the campaign 2003, and with the opening of the new cardiac program at the Flagstaff Medical Center, their partnership will help meet increased blood needs in northern Arizona. For an appointment to give blood at any of the United Blood Services locations statewide, donors may call 1-877-448-GIVE (4483) toll-free or visit
