Navajo Nation Child Care & Development public hearings announced

The Navajo Nation Division of Social Services. Child Care and Development Fund Program (CCDF), has scheduled public hearings to receive comment on child care services under the proposed Navajo Nation CCDF Tribal Plan for Fiscal Year 2007-2009. The proposed plan is available for review in all Regional Offices. The following is the schedule for the public hearings (telephone numbers are for Regional CCDF offices): Crownpoint CCDF April 24 Thoreau Chapter House (505) 7862439, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Shiprock CCDF April 24 Cove Chapter House (505 368150, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Gallup CCDF April 25 Chichiltah Chapter House (505) 7862439, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Chinle CCDF April 26 Rock Point Chapter House (928) 6742350, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Shiprock CCDF April 26 Shiprock Chapter House (505) 3681580, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Come one! Mountain Spinners and Weavers Guild meeting

Boys & Girls Club of Diné Nation Spring Basketball League

The Boys & Girls Club of Diné Nation Spring 2007 Basketball League is now recruiting players.

Divisions will include: 10-12-year-old boys/girls; 13-15-year-old boys/girls; and 16-18-year-old boys/girls.

Registration forms can be picked up at the DOY/BCGDN Recreation Office. An original CIG/birth certificate must be presented upon registration submission.

Registration is free. Volunteer coaches are needed and background checks will be conducted on all coaches.

Annual Shonto Prep Rodeo

The Annual Shonto Preparatory High School Rodeo will be held, Saturday, May 5, at the Shonto Rodeo Grounds. Entry fees are $40 for all events except team roping which is $75. Flagstaff High Band to perform at Diamondbacks game

The Flagstaff High School (FHS) Band was invited once again to perform the National Anthem at the Arizona Diamondbacks game on Thursday, April 26, at Chase Field in Phoenix. Game time is 6:40 p.m. Field level seats are $30 and bleacher seats near left field are $24. The FHS band members are selling tickets to the Diamondbacks game against the San Diego Padres; tickets may also be purchased by calling Jon Elder at (928) 773-8128.
