FLAGSTAFF - A multi-million dollar renovation plan for the Flagstaff Mall food court will begin in late January with plans currently under way to expand the current food court to provide guests a new experience and dining destination. Shoppers will have more seating, better lighting, easier navigation and new restaurant choices.

Additionally, Home Depot will be opening an east Flagstaff location in The Marketplace adjacent to Flagstaff Mall. Home Depot, which will include a garden center, will occupy nearly 110,000 square feet along Marketplace Drive and Route 66.

Highlights of the mall's food court remodeling will include:

• Renovated exterior mall entrance to complement The Marketplace and existing lodge-like architecture inclusive of a beautiful stone fireplace with a 38-foot chimney.

• Pedestrian entrance transformed featuring expansive 26-foot tall glass complimented with new doors and illuminated entry signs.

• Convenient circular driveway inset with pavers.

• Interior existing natural light will be enhanced with four new and larger skylights delivering a brighter and more appealing atmosphere.

• Warmer ambiance will be offered with the addition of a natural colored wood ceiling.

• Vertical columns wrapped in rock to complement the center court fireplace.

• New furnishings and fixtures will provide finishing touches including stone, carpet and tile.

• Seating area will increase by approximately 20 percent.

• Seven food court eateries.

• Expanded amenities will include newly designed restrooms along with family accommodations.

Phoenix-based Westcor, the largest owner-manager of commercial properties in Arizona, will oversee mall improvements and expansion.

"Westcor has a vision for responsible retail development in Flagstaff, and reinvigorating Flagstaff Mall to meet the needs of the community's future growth is our plan," said Greg Cochran, Westcor's vice president of leasing.

Westcor's portfolio currently consists of 18 million square feet of retail space at 28 shopping centers, including 11 super-regional centers, three specialty retail centers and 14 urban marketplaces. The company has set the industry benchmark for ground-up shopping center development such as Chandler Fashion Center, Prescott Gateway Mall and Scottsdale Fashion Square.

Copper Coyote Café, Ruby Tuesday and Subway will remain open throughout the remodeling process. However, public restroom facilities will only be available at Dillard's, JCPenney and Sears.

"As in all redevelopment projects, we kindly ask for our guest's patience while preparations are made to deliver a beautifully enhanced food court and a new fabulous amenity - family restrooms - which will clearly better serve our guests," Pappas continued.

Westcor's commitment to positive growth is further evidenced with The Marketplace currently under construction and located adjacent of the Flagstaff Mall.

Home Depot will anchor the first phase of The Marketplace opening fall 2007 with major first-to-the-market retailers including:

• Shoe Pavilion - 15,000 square feet

• Marshall's - 28,600 square fee

• Best Buy - 30,500 square feet

• Old Navy - 15,000 square feet

• Linens N Things - 25,000 square feet

• Cost Plus World Market - 18,716 square feet

• Petco - 15,497 square feet

Throughout The Marketplace, the extensive use of natural, local materials, such as brick, stone and wood will bring a warm natural palette, complementing the already beautifully scenic region of northern Arizona. The welcoming open-air setting will serve as a community-gathering place and create great energy to ensure long-term viability to help the city of Flagstaff maintain its position as the regional retail hub.

The food court and The Marketplace will open this fall. Additional information about Westcor is available online at www.westcor.com.
