James and Ernie return to region in Native American Heritage Showcase Tour in March

HOPI and TUBA CITY-James and Ernie, Native America's Premiere Comedy Duo will be featured in the Native American Heritage Showcase Tour that is sponsored by the Native Movement's Peace and Balance Project.

Along with James and Ernie, special guests, the Southwest's most sought after deejay, DJ Kiss, and performances by Hopi Eagle Dancers and local hoop dancer and flute-maker/player Marvin Toya, and Native R&B singer JayNez, and Santa Fe's own funk masters, Chocolate Helicopter will be part of the special event line-up.

All proceeds from the concerts will benefit the Native Movement's Peace and Balance Project. The project is a multi-directional approach program that is geared toward empowering youth and educating youth and communities about substance abuse prevention and gang awareness.

The community-based project emphasizes the importance of community and the protection and honoring of Mother Earth.

The tour will start on Friday, March 2 at the Tuba City Community Center in Tuba City and will then travel to Hopi on Saturday, March 3 at the Hopi Veteran's Memorial Center. The doors will open at 7 p.m. at both locations with the show starting at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door for adults, Youth ages 7-13 are $7 advance and $10 at the door, children 7 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at The Hook-Up on Fourth Street in Flagstaff, the Hopi Cultural Center in Second Mesa, Wild Styles in Winslow, and at Kate's Cafe in Tuba City.
