Western Navajo Agency Native American Festivals

The Western Navajo Agency Native American Festivals will be held as follows: Feb. 27, 1 p.m., at Tonalea Day School during which the Western Navajo Agency Native American Festival Princess Pageant-Junior and Senior Division will be held; contact Margaret at (928) 283-6325 for more information. Also, on Feb. 28 at 9 a.m. at Shonto Prep. School, the Western Navajo Agency Native American Festival Song and Dance Competition will be held featuring solo singing, duet singing, group singing, skip dance, round dance, spin and parallel dance and song acts; contact Orleta at (928) 672-2652 for more information.

On March 1 at 9 a.m. at Kayenta Community School the Western Navajo Agency Native American Festival Intertribal Contest Powwow will be held featuring the following dances: girls fancy shawl, girls jingle, southern and northern cloth and buckskin, boys fancy, boys grass, northern and southern traditional and straight, single performance, group performance, friendship, and single instrument; contact Velma at (928) 697-3439 for more information.
