AARP Tax-Aide to assist taxpayers

Free tax counseling and tax return preparation assistance is now available through the AARP Tax-Aide program. The program is offered to people with middle and low income.

The program will be offered at sites throughout the state through April 16. People do not need to be an AARP member or a retiree to use this service. AARP Tax-Aide volunteers, trained in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service, will offer help with personal income tax returns at various locations including churches, libraries and senior centers around Arizona. Last year, approximately 1000 AARP Tax-Aide volunteers helped more than 65,000 people file their federal and state tax returns in Arizona.

The tax service is also available for homebound individuals whenever possible. To find out more about an AARP Tax-Aide site near you call AARP toll-free at 1-888-OUR-AARP (1-888-687-2277) or visit the AARP web site at to receive support from AARP.
