Fort Tuthill is the place to be this weekend

FLAGSTAFF-Celebrate Labor Day weekend at Fort Tuthill County Park by attending the 58th Annual Coconino County Fair Friday through Monday. The fair offers a variety of events, activities and entertainment for every member of the family.

Coconino County Parks and Recreation produces the largest event in northern Arizona every Labor Day weekend by offering the fair. The fair features a livestock auction, carnival rides by Browns Amusement, live entertainment, cultural performances, traditional fair exhibits in addition to special themed areas such as arts and culture, sustainable living and life and leisure.

Children will be delighted by the shows and puppet-making workshop by the Alphabet Soup Puppeteers, and more educational opportunities such as the Kids for Conservation programs.

Local and national entertainers perform onstage all weekend. Catch Dolan Ellis with Tony Norris and Way Out West on Friday. Pop legend Dr. Hook will rock the fairgrounds on Saturday and Arizona's premier country band Mogollon takes the stage on Sunday.

Avoid driving in traffic and get to the fair fast and free. Mountain Line is providing free transportation to and from the fairgrounds from the McConnell and Pine Knoll Drive parking lot at Northern Arizona University every 15 minutes Saturday through Monday.

The Coconino County Fair will be offered Thursday (carnival open only) from 5-10 p.m.; 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday through Sunday; and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday.
