Each weekend through summer the Peshlakai Foundation sponsors a Native American Art Show and Dances featuring artists and dancers from across North America. All artists and dancers are authentic and not to be missed.

Jewelry, music, beadwork, leathergoods, Navajo tacos and frybread are just a few of the items available at the market located on the east side of Highway 64 in the village of Tusayan, just south of the Grand Canyon South Rim.

The market runs from sunrise to sunset each Saturday and Sunday.

This weekend Navajo dancers and musicians will be featured.

Be sure to attend the special events planned for Labor Day weekend, Sept. 1-3.

A hand hrum contest will be held Sept. 1; a hoop dance contest will be held Sept. 2; and a Cowboys and Indians Musican Day and frybread contest will be held Sept. 3.

Everyone is invited to attend and participate.

Age categories for the hoop dance competition will include tiny tots; juniors age 6-12; teens age 13-18; adults age 19-55; and seniors age 55 and older.

Cash prizes will be awarded to winners of all competitions as well as silver overlay trophy buckles.

Frybread contest participants must furnish their own supplies and outdoor stove.
