Miss Western Navajo 06-07, Miss Western Teen 06-07, Lil' Miss Western Navajo 06-07, and Lil' Miss Tonalea 06-07 came together to bring a stronger voice to the Navajo people of the great Western Navajo Agency. The young ladies have been quite busy since they took the opportunity to represent their respective agencies and schools. The princesses have traveled to school sponsored events, community dinners, and programs at the request of groups across the Navajo Nation. On March 31, three of the princesses participated in two events in the Tuba City community. They started the morning off by entertaining and participating in the Spring Festival at the Tuba City High School football stadium. They then went to the Tuba City Chapter House where a community meeting was being conducted and entertained the crowd as lunch was served.

The purpose of joining forces is to attempt to bring a stronger focus on issues that could possibly be resolved with their efforts. They are focusing on the elders of today and the teachers of tomorrow-the youth.

"I am making an effort to bring these young ladies to a mentality of leaders and tomorrow carry on the values of the Navajo people," said Miss Western Navajo Tasheena Tisi. We are joining forces so our voices in the community will stand strong. We plan to continue our efforts by working closely with the many programs we believe will make our Navajo people superior. We want to make a positive note to the young generation to continue all education goals and always believe in yourself. We praise all positive attributes of every student across the Navajo Nation and the hard work they put into school. We would like to encourage all parents to continue teaching your child(ren) the values of a Diné individual. Continue the great respect to the elderly population of our Navajo people. Overall, continue the great work as a nation and let's climb the ladder of success as one. For more information, e-mail nizhoniprincesses0607@yahoo.com.
