Yavapai-Apache Nation Celebrates Annual Veterans Day Remembrance Ceremony Saturday
CAMP VERDE - The Yavapai-Apache Nation will host its annual Veterans Day ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Veterans Memorial Park located on Middle Verde Road. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. and will honor all tribal veterans and others who have served in the United States Armed Forces. The ceremony will include prayers and songs to commemorate the day, as well as a flag raising ceremony, laying of the wreaths ceremony and the reading of Yavapai-Apache tribal veteran names. If inclement weather prohibits the ceremony from being performed at Veterans Memorial Park, it will be relocated to Cliff Castle Casino.
In addition to the remembrance ceremony, Cliff Castle Casino will provide military veterans with a complimentary meal beginning at 11 a.m. in the Gallery Restaurant. To participate in the offer, guests are required to show proof of veteran status.
The general public and tribal communities are invited to participate in the commemoration of Veteran's Day with the Yavapai-Apache Nation, and are encouraged to bring photos and flowers to present during the formal commemoration to remember those who have served in all branches of the armed forces.
The Yavapai-Apache Nation Office of Public Relations continues to seek information on all Yavapai-Apache tribal veterans and those who are currently serving. The information requested will be added to the Yavapai-Apache Veterans Memorial and must include the name of the veteran or person currently serving, branch served, years served, medals received and whether they are alive or deceased.
