Firewise & Community Preparedness Meeting Scheduled for Residents of Kachina Village, Mountainaire, Forest Highlands, Pine Del & Lower Lake Mary Residents

Friday, June 23 at 6 p.m . at Highlands Fire Department—

Residents of Kachina Village, Mountainaire, Forest Highlands, Pine Del and Lower Lake Mary are invited to attend a community meeting to discuss the Firewise program—a program to protect people, property and natural resources from the risk of wildland fire. Other issues to be discussed include emergency preparedness, evacuation planning and forest closures.

Officials from the Highlands Fire District, Coconino County Sheriff’s Office, Board of Supervisors and Emergency Services; U.S. Forest Service and Red Cross will be available to discuss these issues and answer questions. Written material will also be available on emergency planning, forest closures and the Brins Fire.
