Della Yonnie

Funeral Services for Della M. Yonnie, 34, were held Jan. 18, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Rev. Johnny Nells officiated. Interment followed in Desert View Cemetery.

Della passed away Jan.13, in Phoenix. She was born in Ft. Defiance on March 12, 1971, to Raymond and Joanne Begay. Della attended Many Farms Elementary School, Chinle Jr. High, Winslow High School, Phoenix College and Northland Pioneer College. She was accepted to Berkley University in San Francisco and was scheduled to attend in fall of 2006 with a full scholarship.

She worked at Phoenix Job Corps Center for over eight years, where she very much enjoyed working with the youth. Della was very outgoing, athletic and always helping others. She was a very kind, loving and giving  person. She was the family comedian, always wanting to make everyone laugh. Her Clan was of the Kinyaa' a' anii-Towering House, Ta'chii'nii-Red Streak People, Tse'nji'kini'-The Rock House People and Todich'ii'nii- The Bitter Water People.

She is survived by her three children, Jolisa, Isaac and Melissa Yonnie; parents, Joanne (Felix) Tsinijinnie of Standing Horse Mesa and Ray (Jackie) Begay of Many Farms; brothers Loren (Vera) Begay of Phoenix,, Darrell (Toni) Williams of Phoenix and Julian (Rose) Williams of Cameron; sisters, Theresa Williams of Standing Horse Mesa, Angie (Antone) Begay of Phoenix, Joleen (Harold) Yellowhair of Page, and Lorentia (Donovan) Franklin of Standing Horse Mesa; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Yonnnie.

Arrangements were under the care of Greer's Mortuary of Winslow.
