Doc Wright Tourney planned in Winslow Friday and Saturday

Winslow High School will host one of the oldest and most prestigious wrestling tournaments in the state on Friday and Saturday when the Annual Doc Wright Wrestling Tournament will be held. Teams from all classifications have attended this meet in the past and some of the finest high school wrestlers in the state have performed here.

Wrestling fans can count on seeing some of the best wrestlers from 4A and 5A schools as well as the best the 3A Conference has to offer. There is also usually a sprinkling of superior 1A and 2A Conference schools in attendance such as the always formidable Joseph City Wildcats contingent.

The list of participating schools, times and other pertinent information was not available at press time; however, it is likely that the event will draw its usual number of top quality schools from every classification.

This could well be the Winslow Bulldogs wrestling team's best chance to win their own event in decades. The Bulldogs already own the Holbrook Invitational crown and have been enjoying success throughout the season.
