Last week, Zarco Guerrero made a return trip to northern Arizona after a popular tour in Flagstaff and surrounding areas last year. Guerrero, a master mask maker who has studied throughout the country and Japan, performed at various schools presenting strong messages to youth—about abstinence from alcohol, drugs and teen pregnancy, as well as personal respect and tolerance.

This noted musician also worked with youth in performing Latin-style percussion using “found instruments” such as pots, pans, old door keys and more. Above are some of the faces Guerrero delivered at the STAR School, 35 miles northeast of Flagstaff, on Feb. 8.
