3A North Review

The 3A North Region teams went into the final week of the regular season with defending champion Winslow (8-1, 5-0) having clinched the regional title by defeating the Ganado Hornets (3-6, 2-3) 42-0 on Friday. The Bulldogs will meet the Window Rock Scouts (5-2, 4-1) at Winslow in the regular season finale. The Scouts defeated Greyhills 42-0 in their Friday outing.

The Ganado Hornets will finish their season at the Tuba City Warriors (5-4, 4-1). The Warriors fell to the top-ranked Blue Ridge Yellowjackets 39-19 in a non-conference contest.

The Monument Valley Mustangs (4-5, 2-3) defeated the Hopi Bruins (3-6, 1-5) 42-22 on Friday. The Mustangs will host the Greyhills Knights (1-7, 0-5) on Friday. The Knights lost to Window Rock 42-0 on Friday.

Winslow can win the championship with a victory over Window Rock. Window Rock could win the title with a win over Winslow and a Tuba City loss. There could be a three way tie should Window Rock and Tuba City both win on Friday. All three teams are assured of a play-off berth with Ganado and Monument Valley still in the hunt for the final play-off slot. Monument Valley would get the slot should both teams win or both lose on Friday. Ganado needs a win over Tuba City and a Monument Valley loss to Greyhills to make the post season.

3A North Region standings:

Winslow 5-0

Tuba City 4-1

Window Rock 4-1

Ganado 2-3

Monument Valley 2-3

Hopi 1-4

Greyhills 0-5
