Funeral services for John Thomas (JT) Curnutte were held Nov. 12 at the First Baptist Church in Winslow. Pastor Fred Harris officiated. Interment followed at Desert View Cemetery.
JT was born Aug. 13, 1930 in Quaker, W.V. He came to Winslow in May 1940 and attended schools here. He served in the US Army from January 1949 to January 1952.
He married June James on June 3, 1952. He was an Arizona State Liquor and Narcotic Agent in Phoenix for 10 years. He then moved back to Winslow and started his own trucking business, JT Trucking.
He is survived by his wife June; son Keith (Darshon) of Winslow; brothers W.W. (Bill) Curnutte of Tunnelton, W.V. and Rightly L. Curnutte (Linda Sue) of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters-in-law, Opal Carl of Taylor and Linda Saunders of Albuquerque, N.M.; three grandchildren, Jimmy, Nicole and Caitlin, all of Winslow; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three children, Roberta Lynn, John Robert (Bobby) and Diana Kaye Curnutte; and his parents, John H. and Sibbie Curnutte.
Arrangements were under the care of Norvel Owens Mortuary in Winslow
