Benefit Social Song & Dance

Everyone is welcome to attend a Benefit Social Song and Dance held Saturday, June 18 at the Wilson residence in Jeddito. Registration is at 9 a.m. (DST) and the grand entry is at 11 a.m. William Wilson and Norman Yazzie will serve as emcees. Littlewater Singers and Kin-Lani Swinging Echoes serve as hosts. All singers and dancers welcome. There will also be raffles, concessions, a cakewalk and door prizes. This event is outdoors so please bring your own chairs and umbrellas.

Clinic movestemporarily

During the month of June, Tuba City hospital's Surgical, Orthopaedic and Urology Clinic will temporarily relocate to the east end of the pediatric ward (rooms 15, 17, 18 and 20) of the main hospital building. This temporary move is required during the renovation of the clinic's trailer.

In order to maintain patient privacy and to continue to serve our community's healthcare needs, Surgical, Orthopaedic and Urology Clinic patients are requested to enter the clinic using the southeast entrance of the hospital's pediatric unit. There are signs posted throughout the hospital campus to help patients locate the clinic.

Carnival in TC

The Coalmine Canyon Chapter will be sponsoring a carnival June 15-19 in Tuba City at the Tuba City Community Center. All are welcome to attend and have fun.

Scholarships

June 27 at 5 p.m. is the application deadline for full-time undergraduate and graduate scholarship and financial assistance from the Office of Navajo Nation Scholarship & Financial Assistance. To apply, submit the following documents: a signed ONNSFA application for either undergraduate or graduate studies, an Official Certificate of Indian Blood (if a first time applicant), Financial Needs Analysis, an official transcript (continuing students must submit official grade reports or transcripts to ONNSFA within 30 working days after completion of the academic term); letter of admission (enrollment verification required if a student did not attend for one term or was not funded by ONNSFA for one term), and a graduation checklist (not applicable to entering college freshmen and sophomores).

Aug. 31 at 5 p.m. is the deadline for undergraduate and graduate part-time students for fall 2005 semester.

B-ball tourney

Native veterans

Lorrie Church is shooting a music video called "Native American" to honor Native American veterans and also to honor the memory of the late Lori Piestewa. This video will be part of a larger project to build a "National Native American Veterans' Memorial". The exact date for the shoot will be posted once it has been finalized. The music video will be shot on the Hopi Reservation in Arizona. Veterans from every state should be represented including tribal honor/color guards. Song & Dance

Registration is at 10 a.m. (DST) and the grand entry is at 11:30 a.m. Davis Mitchell will serve as master of ceremony at this fund-raiser for Tierra Sheppard, 13, of the Rocky Ridge-Hard Rock community.
